All Alcoholic Beverages have the same capability of causing intoxication, addiction, sclerosis of the liver, delirium, and so forth. The harm that they do is mainly related to the quantity that is consumed. Rum, if it is consumed in moderation, is not more harmful than any other alcoholic beverage that is consumed in moderation.

Rum
Whiskey and rum in excess is not good for a persons health. In moderation, whiskey is better for health than rum. The reason being, whiskey has more antioxidants than rum. They both have the same caloric amounts.
In some cases yes. For instance, if you want a whiskey coke but you only have rum, you can simply make a rum and coke instead!
There are no health benefits from either.
Drinking alcohol (beer, wine and spirits (vodka, gin, whiskey, rum, etc.) in moderation is associated with better health and greater longevity than is abstaining or abusing alcohol.
