Both belong to class the class of "super-potent" benzodiazepines. Technically, Klonopin is more potent than Ativan (0.25mg-0.5mg klonopin = 1mg ativan), but if you are wondering which produces more euphoria, most would agree Ativan beats Klonopin. My psychiatrist recently swapped me from klonopin to ativan for my social anxiety, and I find ativan works faster and produces a much more calming effect than the klonopin did.
From what I understand the only way to try and compare it is by looking at the amount of benzos in the pills and compare them to a Valume. It takes .25 mg of klonopin to be equivalent to 5mg Valium while it takes .5 mg of a xanax to equal the same thing. This would meant hat Klonopin is roughly twice as strong as xanax. Klonopin also has a longer half life than xanax, meaning that it will be in your system longer. Overall Klonopin is a better drug because it's safer.
Xanax (alprazolam) is more potent than Ativan (lorazepam).
Typically 0.5 mg of Xanax is equal to 1 mg of Ativan. However this does vary from person to person.
Xanax also works faster and lasts a shorter period than Ativan. So it is logical to say that Xanax is more "powerful" because of its potency and rapid action.
They both work great for high anxiety but Xanax is the only benzodiazepine that will take away my panic attacks
Will lorazepam and klonopin show up differently on a lab drug test you get prescribed klonopin and a friend gave you ativan and you need to know if a lab can tell the difference between the two?
Ativan can be stronger than Xanax. However, it depends on the milligram dosage. Both Ativan and Xanax are anti-anxiety prescription medications.
Yes
More Klonopin.....and ruby red grapefruit juice.
You should check with a pharmacist, or doctor, since Ativan and Klonopin are used for a variety of conditions. As with all medications, they should only be taken as directed by a physician.
Benzodiazapines Valium (diazapam) Xanax (alprazolam) Ativan (Lorazapam) Klonopin (Clonazapam)
Ativan, Xanax, Klonopin ~ all the benzos. I take 60 XR Adderall per day and about 3 Ativan 2 mg.
What is stronger a 1 milligram ativan or a 1 milligram xanax
yes, Ativan is the only benzo that won't get stronger from tagamet. So, you don't to worry.
Alcohol intensifies the effect of benzodiazepines (such as Ativan, Xanax & Klonopin). This can lead to oversedation, incoordination, slurring of speech, and increased risk of falls and accidents.
Xanax (alprazolam)Klonopin (clonazepam)Valium (diazepam)Ativan (lorazepam)Serax (oxazepam)Librium (chlordiazepoxide)BuSpar (buspirone)
i believe 0.5 mg is stronger because another 0.5 makes 1 mg
