There are quite a few cities in the northern half of Australia, though I assume you are probably referring to Darwin which is the capital city of the Northern Territory and the only capital city in the northern half of Australia.

Other cities in northern Australia include Palmerston in the Northern Territory, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Gladstone, and Mount Isa (there a probably a few more) in Queensland's north, and Broome in Western Australia's north.
