The international headquarters of the flooring company Amtico are situated in Salem, New Jersey in the USA. They produce a number of innovative flooring collections.
Based off of the instructions available for caring for the floor provided by Amtico, it suggests not using steam mops on this flooring. These mops could cause damage to the flooring and cause adhesives to fail.
No. Amtico is an engineered luxury vinyl tile (LVT tile). Laminate is a veneered product. It will have possibly an MDF back with a picture of wood on the surface. An LVT will perform much better and allows you to be more creative. Amtico or Karndean are the two leading manufacturers. I am in the flooring industry and specialise in Karndean.
The company Amtico produces vinyl flooring for both home and commercial use. Brochures, catalogs and samples are available at their official website. The website also features a retailer search.
There is no water-resistant wood. However, bamboo is a very durable grass (not wood) and can be used in a bathroom as it has some water-resistant properties. If you are unsure about it then I would recommend you go with wood-look vinyl, the Brand I prefer is Amtico very durable and natural looking.
I would recommend commercial grade vinyl such as Amtico. It is nothing like the vinyl from a roll so give it a chance be before crossing it off the list. It is very easy to clean. extremely durable and will survive a flood. It is laid in pieces (either planks or tile depending which design you choose) and glued down. Other choices that come into play if you are not concerned about flooding are: engineered flooring, carpet, porcelain tile and cork. I would stay away from the cork if you have young children.
