I was about to buy a netbook laptop as an entry level computer, but now that Apple has announced its new iPad I'm rethinking my decision. I love my iPhone, so is there any reason to *not* get the iPad instead of a netbook?
There are several reasons, but it still might be the way to go: 1. No built-in camera. If you want to videoconference with anyone, you probably want a netbook with a camera. 2. No flash. Apparently this is still the case, similar to the iPhone. Apple and Adobe seem to be at an impasse on this. 3. No built-in USB. These might not be issues for you, obviously. The only reason would be if you need software not available for iPhone OS or need to use specific hardware like printers or thumbdrives.

I think the Apple iBook would be the best laptop for your husband. It's lightweight, durable and has a long battery life.

Probably because you have Windows 7 Starter. W7S doesn't allow you to change backrounds (or, as you call it, wallpaper) because it's stupid. Trust me, I have the computer, and it's very dumb. If you really have to change the backround, buy a different computer with a different carrier (Mac, Apple, etc.)
