Matthew wrote Gospel according to Matthew
Peter wrote the Epistles 1&2 Peter.
Answer/
In The Bible disciples Matthew and John brought followers their Gospels, ref. Apostolic Constitutions Book II, section 7.
James Peter and John wrote epistles to followers, ref. Widmanstadt edition; Judas son of Alphaeus wrote his epistle for Christians.
John the Evangelist informed the congregation of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, ref. Anti-Marcionite prologues.
The first book attributed to John was the fourth gospel, which is therefore now known as John's Gospel. As with all the New Testament gospels, John was originally anonymous, untl it was apparently attributed to Cerinthus, the gnostic author. Attribution to a gnostic author was not acceptable to the mainstream Church, and around 180 CE, Irenaeus declared the author of this gospel to be John.
Three epistles were clearly associated with John's Gospel and were therefore also attributed to the apostle John. These are 1 John, 2 John and 3 John.
Finally, the Book of Revelation was attributed to the disciple John, since the author gave his own name as John - although not necessarily John the disciple. Many early Christians considered this book to be inauthentic and resisted its inclusion in the Bible, but eventually the association with John won the day and Revelation became the last book in the New Testament.
Specifically five books/letters, then it is the Apostle John in the New Testament. Credit is given to Moses for compiling/writing the first five books of the Old Testament. Others may have written five as well though we are unsure.
