the crusades were to rescue christian holy items and land the first was to regain the holy land the others were to storm places were they belived the arabians were hiding the holy grail and such.

Really it was, but Arthur's knights were to weak to gain it. In historical content however. The Holy Grail legend was propbably based upon the cup which the real Arthur, who ever that was, had. And later it was rapped up with all the rest. Haha
