Ultimate Washer is the place to come for Honda small engine parts. ... If the recoil starter cord on your Honda engine breaks, don't take it to a local shop for repair. ... Starter Spring, SN-150-715 Recoil Flange Bolt, SN-140-401 Starter Handle ..
the recoil spring is broken.
There is a number on the recoil starter and the back of the engine .
The starter rope does not work maybe because the spring may be weak or the ball- bearings in the starter clutch may be jammed and won't let it turn back. If the ball-bearing arn't jammed it could be that the starter clutch is binding on the casing of the recoil if you hit the end of the shaft it may have spread the shaft so it is binding the recoil clutch .
185s yes
It wouldn't be advisable. The recoil spring is an essential component of the operating mechanism, and, in many rimfire rifles, is also instrumental in keeping the bolt carrier on track. Using your firearm without this recoil spring leads to serious risk of damage, and the possibility of personal injury.
Yes you can put a pull start on it. Price is dependent on what type you get; the normal recoil type or the open pull rope type. The recoil type will be hard unless it is pre-assembled (and you are good with following instructions) the rope type is pretty easy.
take it to a lawnmower shop they do them all the time....its way easier that way trust me.....
I have worked on a 98 trail boss. You have to take off the fly wheel cover/recoil first. After that there are two or three bolts that will come out of the starter. there is a ground strap that is attached to the starter that needs to come off also.
Remove gas tank and plastic shroud covering engine. Remove metal engine shroud and debris screen. Starter pulley and recoil assembly are underneath screen.
