The third one on the list does.
Parallels run east-west on a map. They are lines of latitude that are parallel to the equator.
The legend is always the most important part of a map (to me). It explains what all the symbols mean, the year it was made and what scale it is made in. It can also tell you what map is to the east, west, north and south of that portion of the Earth's surface.
The Prime Meridian at 0 degrees longitude is the line on the map that divides east from west. Locations to the east of the Prime Meridian are considered in the Eastern Hemisphere, while locations to the west are in the Western Hemisphere.
A scale bar in social studies is used to represent the relationship between distances on a map and the actual physical distances on the Earth's surface. It allows map readers to accurately determine the size and distances between locations depicted on the map. It helps in understanding the spatial context of geographical features and locations.
The symbol on a map that shows direction is called a compass rose. It indicates the cardinal directions (north, east, south, west) and sometimes intermediate directions (northeast, southeast, southwest, northwest).
Longitude lines.
The distance east or west of the Prime Meridian.
The meridians of constant longitude mark angles east or west of the Prime Meridian. Distances can't be estimated with only that information.
Longitude lines. They are also called meridians.
A map's scale measures distance. It provides a ratio of the map's distance to the actual distance on the ground. For example, a scale of 1:100,000 means that 1 unit on the map represents 100,000 units on the ground.
Latitude measures the distance from East to West. Longitude measures the distance from North to South. As for Military Grid, it shows a location/object on the map and, what Latitude and Longitude line that location/object is on.
The earliest map drawers eventually represented distances on their maps according to their selected scale. Explorers used different schemes to measure distances travelled and recorded or mapped out, always using the idea of a set scale to precisely represent distance. Perhaps the caveman, in drawing a journey to a good hunting ground, used some idea of distance away from the cave.
California is West of Arizona. When picturing a map that has North at the top, you can remember the directions of west and east by remembering they spell "We." West is to the left, and East is to the right.
North, south, east and west
East and west distances can be measured using longitude lines, imaginary lines that connect the Earth's poles. The distance between any two longitudes is the greatest at the equator, and zero at the poles.
