The Roman Aquaducts
Pont du Gard
We call the Roman water system aqueducts. The Romans used two words for it, aquae ductus. If there was a name to the aqueduct, they wold just use aqua followed by the name, such as the Aqua Julia, Aqua Marcia, etc.
They brought water from one location into cities and towns.
The phrase "It was used by the Roman Gladiators" does not describe the city of Teotihuacan.
The Roman Empire had large territorial holdings in Europe and around the Mediterranean. The term is used to describe the Roman state during and after the time of the first Roman emperor, Augustus.
A Roman litter was basically a carrying platform. It was a rectangular board with long side poles which were raised on the shoulders of slaves to transport people or goods. If it were a litter used by people, it generally had an awning with side curtains and the inside was lined with cushions. The wealthier the person, the more luxuriously, the litter. If it were used for carrying goods into the city, it was simply a basic board with poles.

Aqueducts were the structures that the Roman used to bring fresh water to their city.
When you build a city, you need to get enough water into the city to provide the crowded population with what they need. Many Roman cities did not have enough water on site and a way had to be found to get water in. To solve this problem the Romans used aqueducts. In our modern age we use pipes and pumping stations.

The term "waterpipe" is usually used when talking plumbing. It is a term that refers to a pipe that supplies fresh water to a water heater, water softener, faucet, etc. The term can also be applied to the large pipes that carry fresh water throughout a city underground. Pipes can be steel or copper. The term "waterpipe" is never used to refer to the pipes in a house that carry waste water. These would be sewer pipes.
