The reforms were extremely successful. The seminary system they developed is still in use 500 years later. The reform of the Mass and the sacraments they that put in place remained basically unchanged for almost as long. One of the key things that they addressed was the protestant heresy, which is still with us, so the Council of Trent remains very relevant.

Voting reforms were common, because people wanted to be involved in making decisions that impacted their lives. Many of the reforms that took place are still important in the United States today. Voting rights, minimum wage laws, child labor protection, unemployment and insurance all serve to protect the citizensof the United States.
Spain, Mexico, some South American countries and to a limited extent France and Portugal It is a Spanish cultural activity and was taken to their colonies. They still take place in those countries although they were recently banned in Cataluña in Spain.
