Halloween is celebrated on October 31 but most festivities (such as trick or treating) begin after sunset on that night.
Halloween is an edited holiday. It used to be simmalar to day of the dead. People used to trick others in older day Halloween.
Because it tastes good and lasts longer than just the single day of Halloween.
Happy Halloween!
Halloween originates from an event called, "Hallow's Eve". The details aren't known, but apparently, something happened that day that made it Halloween. I don't know where the candy part comes in.

The dates of Reformation Day and Halloween are mere coincidence. Reformation Day did not "transform" into Halloween, and is a separate holiday.
I usually begin a few days before Halloween, and start my pumpkin a few days before Halloween too. Have a happy Halloween ! :)
