Earth, even though there are life forms on Earth which can use any of the gasses found on other planets.
No, it's a separate thing. The atmosphere is the mix of gases held in by the planet, comprising of various gas molecules. The magnetic field is caused by the molten core of the planet which consists of mainly iron and nickel.
Yes, in a sense it is. It evolves, changes, and the elements that contribute to it change. If it wasn't living how could pollution effect it? In response to the previous members answer, the Earth is not a living thing. It is a large collection of various rocks, at the centre of which is a large collection of Magma. The earth is not affected by pollution, our atmosphere is. Our atmosphere is the collection of gases which help keep the suns damaging, unfiltered rays out, whilst allowing in it's heat and light energy.

None do; by definition, an atmosphere is gaseous or liquid, while a 'rocky' thing would be solid.

planet
Because it is the best life supporting planet that we know of and it has oxygen, plants and food. It's atmosphere is also strong enough to hold the oxygen and other gases. It also has gravity so every thing doesn't just float away...
The most important thing that's a mixture of gasses is our atmosphere.
