This depends on you definition of little. The best fit would probably be Mercury that has virtually no atmosphere and less than 40 % of Earth's gravity on the surface. (Until 2006 Pluto which has even less surface gravity was a planet as well but is now considered a dwarf planet)

What characteristics determine whether a planet or moon can maintain an atmosphere?

gravity and temperature; It needs gravity so it can hold its atmosphere.

How do you distinguish between the biosphere and atmosphere?

Atmosphere is the gaseous envelope that surrounds a planet and is held in place by gravity. Biosphere is the zone on and around a planet that sustains life.

What do other planets not have in their lithospheres that earth does?

Mercury is reminiscent of the Moon - simply a ball of rock hotter than our satellite. Despite its appearance, though, the planet actually does have an atmosphere. Some astronomers believe that Mercury originally had a thick atmosphere like Earth, but the planet is so small that it has very low gravity. As a result of the planet's low gravity, Mercury's atmosphere was blown away by strong solar winds. This barely existent atmosphere is made of a number of compounds including hydrogen, oxygen, water vapor, and potassium.

Why air pressure from earths atmosphere is not the cause of gravity?

Gravity is an entirely separate entity which is a consequence only of the mass of the earth itself. In fact, the atmosphere presses down because gravity is pulling on it.

Is it true that the bigger the planet the stronger the gravity?

For the most part, yes. But the actual determining factor for how much gravity a planet has is based on its mass, and since size and mass are often related it is somewhat accurate to say that the bigger the planet is, the more gravity it will have.

Which planet does not have enough gravity to have an atmosphere?

Nercury

Why can't the atmosphere of gas giant planets escape into space?

Where a planet or moon has an atmosphere, it is the gravity of the moon or planet that holds the atmosphere on the planet or moon.

What stops our planet's atmosphere from flying away?

Gravity.

Why the planet earth was able to maintain its atmosphere?

Gravity

This holds a planet's atmosphere close to its surface?

What is Gravity?

What property controls the type and amount of atmosphere a planet has?

gravity controls the amount of atmosphere that a planet has because the more gravity that a planet has, the more atmosphere it can hold in. God controlled the type of atmosphere a planet had at the start, but since then, the chemical reactions on its surface, volcanic activity, and similar things have changed it slightly.

What characteristics determine whether a planet or moon can maintain an atmosphere?

gravity and temperature; It needs gravity so it can hold its atmosphere.

What keeps the atmosphere around the earth?

A magnetic field holds atmosphere to the planet. Without a magnetosphere the solar wind from the sun will blow the atmosphere away. That is why our planet still has an atmosphere, we have the magnetic poles.

What holds the Earth's atmosphere in place?

The atmosphere is held in place by the earth's gravity. Gravity is related to mass, the more mass a planet has, the more gravity. A much smaller planet like mercury or a body such as the moon will have less gravity, not enough to hold an atmosphere - the gravity is not strong enough to prevent the gas particles from escaping into space.

What force holds a planet's atmosphere in place?

Gravity holds the atmosphere around the planet. Gravity is the force that attracts a body toward the center of the planet. For most purposes Newton's laws of gravity apply, with minor modifications to take the general theory of relativity into account.
