Who popularized the Santa Claus Myth?
There was a real man a long long time ago in th Netherlands called "Sinter Klass". He actually lived and used to give to the poor. This is where the tradition of "Santa Claus" comes from. The legend of Santa Claus originated in 19th century by the poem "A Night Before CHristmas" by Clement C. Moore. In this poem santa Claus is described as St. Nicholas by the poet. Rudolph did not join the team until the song was composed in the late thirties or maybe during the war by an ad-copyrighter for Montgomery ward- who produced the Rudolph tale originally in comic-book form- the song was credited to Johnny Marks spelled Marks -not Marx which was a big-league toy manufacturer years back- I"m magic marxie bringing fun, Marx makes more toys than anyone!-went the jingle on TV.
