I am not familiar with the Jetta in particular but a general answer to the question would be to look to where the lines run. The high pressure line runs to the condenser which is located in front of the radiator, and the low pressure line comes from the evaporator inside the car. Also the high pressure line in later model cars has a smaller diameter port than the low pressure port and requires a adaptor or special hose. If you are in doubt, don't proceed as connecting to the wrong port can cause high pressure to build in the small freon can and can explode. Hope this helps. I am a retired air conditioning contractor who would infrequently work on my own car or those of close friends.
You can find the location of the service valve where you add refrigerant on a 04 Jetta on this web site alone with very helpfull information www.idqusa.com just click on locate low side port.
You can add freon on the low side service port that is located on the accumulator next to the firewall................
the port to add freon is under the car in front of engine coming off the compressor hard to get to but can be done
The low pressure port is the same place that you add Freon to your air conditioning system. The low pressure port will have a blue top.
add r134a to the service port
It contains no Freon. It contains R134a refrigerant and you add it to the low pressure port which is the larger pipe.
You can add Freon to your 1999 Chevy cooling system through the low pressure port. Connect your Freon bottle to the low pressure port and release the Freon into the system.
Freon is added through the ac low pressure port. The port is located on the aluminum pipe on the ac line.
Never add freon to your own car. This is very dangerous and can kill you. A/C systems are very high pressure and If you buy a freon kit to add freon to your car. It will be propane which is highly flammable. Take it to a dealer to get it done. Also if you ever add it and it is leaking out then it can explode if it gets near a spark.
You add the refrigerant through the low side service port.
The 2000 Chevrolet Silverado truck has two ports on top of the air conditioner compressor. You will add Freon through the low pressure port.
in the engine compartment, up against the firewall, all the way over on the (usa) passenger side, there is a plastic block with 2 aluminum lines running to it. the larger line/port is the suction line/port which is where you add refrigerant.
