Depends on what qualities you would like to hear. Positive ones, or negative ones? For example, I really can't think of any religion who's ever had a pedosexual as their main prophet, or any religion who has ever inspired such a large amount of violence (Christianity DOES come in as a close second though!)

Really, Islam does have a lot in common with other mainstream religions.

1) Puts a general hold on any and all scientific progress that was previously achieved, in favour of an ancient, unverifiable book, or the ramblings of a deluded warlord or hippie.

2) Preaches peace, yet is responsible for many a war, and is also intolerant towards people of other faiths and sexualities.

3) Is scientifically unattainable.

4) Sometimes tries to adapt to the current age, yet fails miserably due to wanting to retain certain rules that still belong to the middle ages.

Islam has many special qualities that distinguish it from other religions, here are some spotlights:

Sure, if you do not already adhere to some other religion fulfilling your spiritual needs. And being taught that ignorance is a virtua will certainly fulfill any mental needs! Now I would doubt that believing in Allah and his prophet will directly deliver you any food or water, but if you die from starvation and dehydration believing Allah would grant you that fullfilment, he probably intended that.

If it's peace you're looking for, go with Jainism. Everything is regulated by the Creator who does know what is the most suitable for His creatures. This is a Slander,take these examples : The whole Arabic peninsula had converted to Islam in "the year of delegations",named historically with this name due to the huge number of delegations came to the prophet MUHAMMAD PBUH to convert to Islam.

Before that, all people of Mecca was converted to Islam after a remission of MUHAMMAD PBUH.
