Christianity and Hinduism both teach that as people we should look after the environment.
Because Christians believe God created everything and in Genesis chapter 2 verse 15 commanded us to protect and tend to His creation. In other words we were put in charge of it. While Hinduism teaches that when we die, some may reincarnate as animals, such as cattle, and so we need to care for all creatures.
