There are a number of objectives for performing task analysis -- one of which is: To identify all facets of a task (assumptions, starting point, ending point, knowledge/ability necessary, steps, completion criteria, etc.) that can be used to build a training program for replacement workers and/or continuous training to ensure performance is maintained at a minimum level.
Not a lot of places requires safety training for workers involved in places such as construction, excavations..etc. but a lot of companies are taking them or giving them to their workers to make sure that the workers are efficient and safe in the workplace. In the US, workers subject to OSHA and MSHA are required to be provided with sufficent training to permit them to safely perform their work.

Providing training and development to your workers means that you are openning opportunities up for your organization. When workers get additional education and knowledge and skills from the trainings you provide you can expect better productivity and they can even suggest a better systemazation of your processes. Some companies provide advancement training to workers so they wouldn't have to hire a new set of workers for a specific skill - they just have to promote within the company.
