adipose tissue
Fat, or adipose tissue, is connected to the skin and organs.
Adipose (fat) tissue. Fat can also be deposited in muscle; with a disease such as muscular dystrophy or on organs like the liver with liver damage. There is a type of fat (brown) which exists on or around internal organs, and subcutaneous fat which is underneath the the out layers of skin.
There are three layers:The epidermis: a thin outer portion, that is the keratinized stratified squamous epithelium of skin. The epidermis is important for the protective function of skin. The basal layers of this epithelium are folded to form dermal papillae. Thin skin contains four types of cellular layers, and thick skin contains five. The dermis: a thicker inner portion. This is the connective tissue layer of skin. It is important for sensation, protection and thermoregulation. It contains nerves, the blood supply, fibroblasts and more, as well as sweat glands, which open out onto the surface of the skin, and in some regions, hair. The apical layers of the dermis are folded, to form dermal papillae, which are particularly prominent in thick skin. The hypodermis. This layer is underneath the dermis, and merges with it. It mainly contains adipose tissue and sweat glands. The adipose tissue has metabolic functions: it is responsible for production of vitamin D, and triglycerides.
The dermis contains a large amount of adipose tissue. This fat tissue provides cushioning for internal organs, as well as heat conservation.
Hypodermis
Adipose tissue is deep to the skin; skin is superficial to adipose tissue. Adipose tissue is fat.

Hypodermis
Adipose tissue is also called fat tissue. It is found under the skin, around organs such as the eyes and kidneys, on the surface of the heart, around certain joints, and in some abdominal members as an "apron" over the abdominal organs. Your skin has three layers. Epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis. Adipose tissue is in the hypodermis.
subcutaneous layer. its the third layer of skin made up of adipose tissue (fat) which is made up of adipocytes. it lies benath the dermis which lies beneath the epidermis, your outermost layer of skin.
The hypodermis is mainly composed of fat tissue (adipose).
