This is a weird question. Tennessee doesn't merely border TWO states! You have Kentucky to the north, Virginia to the northeast, North Carolina to the east, Georgia to the southeast, Alabama to the south central and Mississippi to the southwest. If you don't count the Mississippi River as the western border, then you should also add Arkansas and Missouri to the west as well.
Hope this helps
No states border the Tennessee River. It does however flow through Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia, from its headwaters in Virginia and North Carolina. It has tributaries from Mississippi.
Correction:
The Tennessee River borders Mississippi for a short distance near Pickwick Lock & Dam. It does not go through Georgia and the official headwaters is near Knoxville, TN at the confluence of the Holston and French Broad Rivers.
