Italy's four highest mountains are in the Piedmont and Valle d' Aosta area of the Alps: Mont Blanc (Monte Bianco) with a height of 4,765 metres, Monte Rosa (4,634 m) Grenzgipfel (4,618 m) and Punta Nordend (4,609 m). Mont Blanc is on the Border with France. The others are on the border with the Canton Valais of Switzerland. Mont Blanc and Monte Rosa are the two highest mountains in the Alps.

There is a mountain range that separates France from Switzerland. The Alps mountain range runs for 700 miles along the Southern coastline of France.
