Capacitor coupling involves the use of coupling capacitors.Coupling capacitors are mostly ceramic capacitors. These are in the range of 0.47picofarad to 4.7 microfarad.Never use an electrolytic capacitor for coupling. It is meant for bypassing.coupling capacitors aloow AC and block DC components of a DC coupled signal. This DC component may also include noise,a grounded voltage signal or a step function. The analysis of the circuit involves determining the h-parameters of the amplifying stages, the Fourier transform of the signal applied and at various points of the circuit and the Laplace transform of the circuit sections in order to know the conditions of operations .Using complex engineering mathematics, the time varying analysis can be performed .This makes use of the Maxwell's equations to know the fields of the passive and active elements.
Loading of Rc coupled amplifier occurs, if you doesnt use coupling capacitors...... If avoiding input coupling capacitor the amplifier will load the function generator.. For more details go to http://mycircuits9.blogspot.com
Rc coupled amplifier is used where good frequency response required. in case of multistage amplification system,To prevent resistance of one stage to come in parallel with next stage, it is used. we use capacitor as a coupling element between two consecutive stages.
tuned circuit consists of resistance and capacitor so this one RC circuit formula to be used f = 1/ 2 pi RC
the circuit will pass waves of a lower frequency
Resistors and capacitors are a lot cheaper and lightweight than transformers
rc coupling is a coupling that involves capacitor aand resistor

RC COUPLING :- is the most Commonly used Coupling Between the two stages of a cascaded or multistage amplifier because it is cheaper in cost and Very compact circuit and provides excellent frequency response. TRANSFORMER COUPLING :- Impedence Coupling results in more efficient amplification because no signal power is wasted in Inductor L. Such Coupling has the drawback of being larger, Heavier and Costlier than the RC COUPLING. Impedence Coupling is rarely used beyond audio range . by : Muhammad zubair.... muet student of telecom.

Because the timing is set by the time constant of a resistor and a capacitor. With R in ohms and C in Farads, the time-constant is RC in seconds. If the capacitor leaks the timing will be wrong.
the circuit will pass waves of a lower frequency
Merit: RC-coupled amplifiers are simple and inexpensive to design and construct, providing good frequency response over a wide range of frequencies. Demerit: They have limited low-frequency response due to the capacitive coupling, which can result in signal attenuation at lower frequencies. Additionally, they may suffer from coupling capacitor leakage, affecting the overall performance of the amplifier.
-- The quantity 'RC' has the physical dimensions of Time. -- If the capacitor is charging through a resistor, then 'RC' is the time it takes to charge up to (1 - 1/e) of the voltage it still has to go to become fully-charged. -- If the capacitor is discharging through a resistor, then 'RC' is the time it takes to discharge to 1/e of its present voltage. -- ' e ' is the base of natural logarithms, approximately 2.71828... -- 'RC' is called the 'time constant' of the resistor/capacitor combination.
