It first gets sent to the recycling area, where it is left to decompose. It might take a while to do this, but after this is accomplished it is taken to burn. From there on, all the scraps are left, and are sent to the factories to remake the material.

That all depends on what type of household appliance you are looking at. There are refrigerators, washer, dryer, oven, stove, and many other things. And they will be as cheap as $20 all the way up to $1000s of dollars.
