In most cases - nothing. Windows automatically recognises a wide range of printers. However - on some occasions, you might need driver software - usually supplied with the printer. Windows 8 recognised my printer without the need for driver software to be installed.

Computer software tells the hardware what to do. Without any software, the hardware would be worthless. Think of the software as a subject in school, and the hardware as you or your brain. Without any learning, you can't do anything. One you have learned some math, then you are able to solve math problems. This learning is usually accomplished through downloads or CD's that are loaded into the computer.
MAIN MEMORY
memory
True... add-ons and/or toolbars are loaded into memory (RAM)... The less RAM you have available to the computer's processor - the slower the computer runs.
The main purpose of the internet is obviously to find information. It is also used because it is much quicker when compared to books. Other purposes may include, -shopping -advertising -making your own websites -use your creativity
Most computers will 'auto-detect' a printer when it's plugged into a USB port. Windows software includes drivers for most printers, and will install the correct driver for the printer it detects. If it doesn't find a relevant driver - it will ask for an installation disk.

All kinds of software can be loaded on a computer. Most important is an operating system which, like its name suggests, helps your computer operate. After that you can have applications, which is the software the user uses to do things. Typical ones are word processors, spreadsheets, games etc. Some may come on a computer when you buy and others you will have to buy and some you can download, either for free or at a price. What software you have will depend on the type of computer and what software you want to have on your computer. Different people will want different things.
When you boot a computer, you are basically loading the operating system and all of its components. These are necessary for the computer to run and to access your data and software. After the OS has loaded, your startup programs are loaded as well.
You can, provided that the laser printer has a USB connection and provided that the computer has a USB port and that the Operating System is capable of supporting the printer (it must have the proper "drivers" loaded)
System software that is responsible for the functioning of all hardware parts and their interoperability to carry out tasks successfully is called an operating system (OS). OS is the first software to be loaded into computer memory when the computer is switched on and this is called booting.
es but you need garmin software loaded on your computer to see the trips
Computer software - is another name for computer programs, Computer programs can be as simple as displaying a letter on a screen, when it's pressed on the keyboard - to a complete operating system (such as Windows or Linux). Operating systems are usually loaded at the factory when the computer is manufactured.
Starts with the Operating system which interacts with the application software loaded in to the machine. The software combined with user input directs operation.
This is the machine code program file that can be loaded and executed by the computer. It will make the computer do whatever the program was designed to do, if it was written correctly.
I disabled my anti-virus software, closed and re-opened my browser and it loaded instantly.
It means that a computer has asked the printer to print something on Legal paper (8.5" x 14") from the upper paper tray of the printer, and the printer is now asking for the paper to be loaded so it can complete the job. Where the Upper Tray is will vary by printer model.
