I'm not sure I can answer as to the best study but there is a "dynamics of unaddressed crime". As far as injustice done to a person this person will be displaced and the displacement bringing more sadness due to the widening of the margin for error that will naturally occur with the displacement ALSO any unaddressing of crimes committed (especially reported and not addressed properly) will INVITE crime the person's, now a victim, way.Ffor justice is social, as is injustice. The result of dysfunction with in the justice system, is social. It's about sending messages and the right ones for the wrong messages socially sent can be misinterpreted EASILY...leading to crime being invited the victim's way further victimizing the victim. Study? hmmm, how about why the law exists in the first place...
After an issue enters the justice system this is what needs to take place to not further victimize a victim and why:
1.By reporting a crime and the TRUTH being, proper investigation's done leading to vindication of the victim all sends A SOCIAL MESSAGE: You can not do this to this person (anything but the truth can lead to another outcome).
2. The second message sent with the truth prevailing is"Crime does NOT pay here!"
3. all of this in place allows healing and compensation for the victim.
Again, a study?Injustice of this nature can, sadly, fairly easily be inflicted, It's pretty important to get the truth out there when reporting vrime, anything else is purgery, lying is illegal and it does hurt people. Aside from god ordering there be law in the land this is what it's all about or should be, or used to be...I think with corruption...this basic element may have been lost along the way...or something like that. just a guess but sadly an educated one.
Official records cannot show crimes that are not reported.

You are wise to question the 'best measure', an important element in compiling statistics on anything.
Back in the '90s, I got into a "discussion" with a friend about whether the violent crime rate was up or down; she said up and I said stayed about the same. After looking into how to find those numbers and who reports them, I found out that:
Sure enough, the Dept. of Justice numbers said that violent crime was up and the FBI said that violent crime was down.
Why the difference? Because the law enforcement agencies reporting to the DOJ are government agencies dependent on getting funding for the next fiscal year. The reporting law enforcement agencies have no record of unreported crimes but they do have a motive for reporting higher numbers. Those surveyed by the FBI have nothing to gain or loose by their responses.
I personally would consider the FBI's surveys more reliable in general and probably the only means of getting information on crimes that were not reported to any authority.

Sociologists of deviance are likely to study crimes that challenge social norms and values, such as white-collar crime, hate crimes, and cyber crimes. They also focus on understanding the social construction of crime, deviance, and the labeling process in society.

Yes, computers do really help students study habits, in the sense that it provides access to more information, and interactive study websites. However, it also provides many distractions as well.
Try actually reading your homework questions before copying and pasting them.
people should study crime in Geography because, crime happens all over the world not just in one place or one country, and because crimes are also affecting the environment, for example environmental crimes, like letting out harmful gasses from factories and buildings.
Should you study crime statistics, you will find that the majority of reported crimes are crimes of opportunity. Sir Blake was probably just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
No correlational study is not cause and effect because correlation does not measure cause.
Meteo from "Measure" and logos from "word" or "study". Meterology is the study of measurements (of the environment).
The FBI or the federal Bureau of investigation deals with Federal crimes and investigation they are probably trained in forensics and safety
