Here's a simple rule. ALL OIL- GREASE SEALS have a lip on them if you'll look at it.
The lip always goe's towards the fluid or pressure.
Here's how you fix your truck-- Remove the hubs and you will see where the seals ride on the axel housing. Clean and sand it lightly all the way around.
They make a repair sleeve that drives over the axel housing where the seal rides.
Go buy them and put them on. Then go buy 2 GM factoryseals and install them.
Next find the vent tube up by the rear end plate, it's a long rubber hose with a cap on it. Take it loose from the rear end and see if you can blow through it, if you can't then
clean it out or replace it. be sure to check the still tub on the housing that the hose hooks to and make sure it's open and not stoped up.
Next- when your filling it up with grease, do not fill it all the way up to the top of hole
leave it about 1/2 inch below the hole.
Check your lower radiator hose. Alot of times you cant tell its leaking from there. Ive replaced mine twice. Check your lower radiator hose. Alot of times you cant tell its leaking from there. Twice in a month means that you have a big leak anddon't rely on just a visual inspection but rather have a qualified a/c shop add freon along with an a/c dye and let it run for around 30 to 45 minutes and then recheck for leaks using a florescent light and the yellow a/c glasses and if none are found the drive it until it goes out and recheck it again, (you will find the leaks)................
I have replaced the front engine seal twice on my 95 200sx 1.6L, once around 50,000 and again around 160,000. This seems to be an inherent problem with this car that Nissan won't admit. I replaced the seal both times with what Nissan called 'a better seal' but it still leaks to this day. I don't think there is a good solution except if you replace it get the part from Nissan and don't over fill the oil and monitor the amount of leakage. If it gets to bad the oil can get tossed up into the alternator and can ruin the alternator like it did mine at 160,000 miles. I have 200,050 mile on my 95 200sx and still rolling, yes it leaks a little oil.
