How do you bleed the rear brakes on a Honda goldwing?

First, make sure the reservoir is full with dot 4. Need 2 people. Slack the rear bleeder and then tighten. Have the other person apply the foot brake and hold it down, then while they are holding it down, you open the bleeder, let all the fluid and air out, tighten the bleeder and have the other person release the brake. Repeat as needed. You can attach a rubber hose to the bleeder and have the fluid go into a container to keep the area clean. Also one of the calipers in the front also works with the foot brake, bleed the correct one there also.

How do you bleed the brakes on a 1973 Corvette?

You would start with the left rear and open furthest bleeder and let gravity flow bleed the line. With engine off, have some ready to push the brake peddle down when you open the bleeder. (furthest on caliper) When you open bleeder have them push down and hold until you close bleeder. Continue until no air comes out, and rotate through the other two bleeders. Never have him let up on peddle until you have bleeder closed. Then continue same process on rt. rear, then move to lt. front, single bleeder and rt. front. I will some times start car and do same process afterwards in the same way. If for some reason you need to change the rear calipers never go by what the books say. Impossible to slide pads in while calipers on, no way to push all four pistons back and put in pads, no room. Put you calipers together first with pads and pin. Then open bleeders and from the top simply push pads back and slide calipers over rotors and bolt on.

Will 16 inch wheels fit on your 2006 Chevy 1500?

No front brake calipers are to big. If you must calipers can be machined down at a big cost.

Why won't break peddle go down when i try to break?

Well if you changed your brake pads that could be the problem. if you pushed your calipers down and got into your vehicle you should have pumped your brake pedel a few times to let the calipers build presser back up....

What size is a 2N386 Ford bolt?

How do you flush brake fluid?

You can do it but you'll need someone to help you bleed the brakes.First thing I'd do is make sure all the bleeder screws will open at the calipers. If so, you can proceed...if not, well.....Get a turkey baster or some other thing to suck out the old brake fluid from the master cylinder. After doing that, fill with fresh DOT 3 brake fluid.Have a helper sit in the drivers seat and start at the right rear caliper. Open the bleeder screw slightly and have your helper apply pressure to the brake pedal. Make sure your helper doesn't release the pedal with the bleeder screw open. Have him/her "hold" the pedal down until you've tightened the screw. Otherwise it will draw air into your brake system.Close the bleeder and tell your helper to release the pedal. (You'll want to collect the old brake fluid in some kind of container.) DON'T LET THE MASTER CYLINDER RUN DRY OF BRAKE FLUID! Occasionally check the brake fluid level and keep bleeding the right rear caliper till it pumps out clean, fresh fluid. Go to the left rear caliper...do the same. Then the right front then the left front.Again, Don't let the master cylinder run dry of brake fluid. After you are all done, get some brake cleaner and spray down all the brake fluid that might have gotten on the calipers, pads, wheels, etc.The key thing(s) is to flush out the old fluid, make sure the master cylinder stays full during the bleeding process, that your helper "holds" the pedal down until you've tightened the bleeder screw.Do this and you'll be fine.Good luck!

What are the torque settings for the brake calipers?

I dont think that you need to torque down the brake caliipers. I never have and it has never hurt me any, as long as you get them really tight.

How to bleed brakes?

attach a hose to the bleeder valve and put it into a clear jar filled with brake fluid, open the bleeder valve and have somebody push the brake pedal all the way down (you will see bubbles come out of the hose in the jar, that's the air in the brake lines), tighten the bleeder valve before they let the brake pedal come back up, and just repeat that till no more air/bubbles come out. be sure not to let the brake fluid level go down all the way otherwise you will have to start over.

How do you return the pistons on the rear brake calipers 2002 Chevy Tahoe?

From your question im assuming that you have rear disk brakes so use a C clamp to press the pistons back down, if it is too difficult use the bleeder valve at the back of the caliper to release the pressure. Remember to bleed the brakes when you are done if you do this though

What brings brake warning light on in a 2001 Grand Am GT?

Usually it's low brake fluid or a problem with the abs. Check the brake fluid reservoir. Often the brake fluid will go down as the brake pads wear and the calipers has to travel further.

Where is the bleeder valve forthe brakes of a dodge Dakota?

located on each brake caliper/wheel cylinder for drum brakes. have an assistant pump brake pedal several times then hold down. open bleeder valve. repeat on each wheel until only fluid comes out. top off master cylinder as required. I suggest using line wrench on bleeder screws.
