Clockwise. The 72 Chevy 350 engine did not come stock with a HEI unit. No matter, the rotor still spins clockwise.

the shaft that runs through the distributor. it turns on the camshaft housing to make the top of it spin which makes the points open and close, and turns the rotor to send spark to the plugs
It should spin freely, but not wobble. It should spin freely, but not wobble.
One of the accessories that the belt drives must be having an issue. With the belt removed spin each pulley by hand. They should spin freely, quietly and smoothly. The belt tensioner should hold good tension on the belt also.
The most likely causes are either a bad plug or bad wire. Take the electrical circuit apart one by one and work backward from the plug. Pull the spark plug boot off the plug and push a test light into where the plug head would be, making sure to have the tip against the metal in the boot's clip. Spin the engine, but don't start it. You're just looking for spark. If the test light doesn't light, you have no spark to the plug. Next, take the plug wire off the distributor and put the tip of the test light against the metal on the distributor cap where the wire was connected and spin the engine again. If the light still doesn't light, then it is most likely the distributor cap. If it does light up, then you have a bad plug wire. or it may be your distributor module.

The girl spins herself. If you try to force the spin you will injure her. The aim should be to build up sufficient momentum/tension/compression in the dance preceding the spin that when you indicate the spin she should have enough energy to do it.
