To qualify for section 8, you must attend the appointment, then the worker will perform a background check. You can't have any felonies, drug offenses or be a registered sex offender. This will take 6-8 weeks. If you are approved, you will get an appointment to come to an orientation, there you will receive your housing voucher.

The Oklahoma City Housing Authority has an official website that has a tab just for Section 8 Housing. Under the tab there is a long list of everything about Section 8, including a list of rentals.
