∙ 12y agoIt really dates back to 2000 B.C. depending on how you look on it. If you are wondering about intentionally mummifying bodies, than this is your time. They unconsciously mummified bodies by throwing them in sand pits in the desert. This practice dates back to pretty much the Neolithic Revolution (Approximately 5000 B.C.). Hope this helps.
