Its a personal toss-up between the NV3550 2000-2004 5 speed or the 30/32RH 1997-2002 3 speed automatics. The NV is rated for well over what the 4.0 puts out and the RH transmissions are simple designs. Only problem with the RH transmissions is the vent is located right behind the torque converter, not great if you choose to do water crossings.
Most likely the ax15 manual transmission
That would be most likely the AX15
Most likely ax15 for the 4.0 and the ax5 for the 2.4
The Jeep Wrangler 2011 models start at a price of $22,045.00 for a Jeep Wrangler Sport. Most commonly it is the ax15 5 speed mated to the 4.0
A wrangler is a type of Jeep. They are often smaller than most jeeps, and can have removable hoods. Go to www.Jeep.com/Wrangler for more information about wranglers, or Google "jeep wrangler."
the most fun to drive would have to be the wrangler in my opinion..but the most reliable would be a cherokee..I've had mine since 1994 with barely any problems.

Yes that should work, they are both TJ's and most parts will interchange.
Jeep Wrangler TJ
I have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee with the 4.0 litre and automatic transmission. It takes SIX quarts of oil, instead of the standard five that most car engines hold. I would assume the Wrangler 4.0 would be the same.
