Certainly. Just as there are physical actions that by their very nature cause harm, there are spells which, no matter your intent, can do less good than harm. For instance, a love spell which targets a specific person. On the surface, this seems to be a positive thing: I love this person and want the person to know and feel the same way. However, person-specific love spells are manipulative. They interfere with the desires of another, and quite possibly make someone else unhappy (what if that person is loved by someone else, and up until the spell is cast, that person reciprocates that love?) This is only one of many examples I could name of spells that create negative effects. Because of what is known as the law of returns, these spells bring the user long-term harm and disappointment.

What is Bertrand Russell's essay Why I Am Not A Christian about?

Yes He basically lists all the classical proofs of God's existence: ontological, cosmological, the argument of the design and necessity- then refutes them (really quite well) and also refutes the fact that Jesus was the nicest and kindest man who ever lived. It is rather convincing and a very good speech.

Is there some good book or essay that refutes the opinion of The Law written by Frédéric Bastiat?

I'm sure you mean "refutes the principles..." and I will answer as if that is the case. Many essays and/or books refute "The Law" in principle. I do not know of any that refute it by name. Such would include "The Communist Manifesto" by Karl Marx and other famous Socialist works.

What is related readings?

This refers to any material that adds information on the topic of interest. It might be material that refutes an idea, or supports it. It might be material that gives more historical background, or different points of view from others. The more related material that you have read, the better informed you are about the topic. Remember that you don't have to read only material that supports your point of view, and you don't have to try to make yourself believe material that refutes your point of view. The more you read, the better prepared you will be to defend your point of view, or to share it using good information.

What does refutes mean?
