Hi Bought the same model detector with no sound at all. I open the case to find the wires to the speaker where poorly connected. The model I purchased where completely disconnected I re-soldered a new speaker and fixed the problem.

With Radar Detectors you get what you pay for, the XTR-140 is a low end model with few features, Where the whistler simply detects radar, and lights up a letter to confirm the band, this detector has loads of features, and extreme long range detection.
Get your outside lights hooked up to a motion detector. The lights will come on only if it detects motion very close to your home. It is not very expensive to do.

A smoke detector detects smoke, a fire detector detects fire. A loop detector, surely, detects a loop. Many detectors are also based on a loop of wire. For example, loops within the tarmac detect the presence of a car (a mass of ferromagnetic material) and triggers or promotes a change if the lights from red to green. Other sensors use loops as aerials, for example in theft-prevention systems used in shops. In the context with computer programming, one can envision a variety of methods to detect a loop which fails to terminate (and unintentionally endless loop, or one which doesn't terminate in a timely fashion). Critical loops can be monitored for a maximum number of iterations or a maximum duration.
Whistler is an ideal location for winter sports, and Whistler is far enough north so that the northern lights are often seen. Midnight snowmobile tours are available there during the winter that take travelers to optimal locations for aurora viewing. Hotels in Whistler can advise guests on the best places to snowboard, ski and even take dog-sledding tours.
Usually it means its picking up a signal on the specified band.
Try chamging the bulb, and if that doesnt solve your problem, check all the wiring.
Those lights stay on when the abs computer detects a malfunction and sets a code.
Some have sensors which will indicate that a car is at the intersection, some have pressure plates at the intersection which detects the weight of a vehicle on it, some are just timed.
The abs and brake lights stay on when there is a blown fuse or when the abs computer detects a malfunction and sets a code.
The Check Engine Light (CEL) lights up when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects a problem related to emissions or performance.
You mean 'service engine soon'. It lights up as a warning that you should have an auto mechanic look at your engine to see if it needs service. It lights up because a sensor detects that something is not working right.
