The next person in line to the British Throne is His Royal Highness The Prince Charles, eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II. The next female in line to the throne is Her Royal Highness, The Princess Beatrice of York, daughter of Prince Charles' brother, Prince Andrew. She is currently fifth in line to the throne and would only become Queen if all of the others above her failed to succeed, by death or some other reason.

In the event of Charles' demise before then, his son Prince William would be King.

∙ 10y agoPrince Charles is next in line to the throne. However, that does not necessarily mean he will be the next king. He could die before the queen does. He could decide to let Prince William take over instead of him. So we cannot be certain.

∙ 13y agoThe heir apparent is Charles, Prince of Wales. However, that does not necessarily mean that he will be the next monarch. What really matters is who the heir apparent is at the time that the Queen either dies or abdicates. That person will be the next monarch. It might be someone other than Charles.
