In 1838 Samuel Morse perfected Joseph Henry's invention of the electromagnet. It was not until 1843 that the government funded a telegraph graph line from Washington to Baltimore.
The telegraph was invented by Samuel Morse in the 1830s. Morse developed the system of dots and dashes known as Morse code to transmit messages over long distances using electrical signals sent along telegraph wires. The first telegraph line in the United States was completed in 1844 between Washington D.C. and Baltimore.
Even though Samuel Morse invented his version of the electrical telegraph in 1837, another inventor came up with a slightly different one in 1832.If i remember correctly, the another guy did come up with a version of the electrical telegraph, but that it was too complicated and difficult to use, and when he was trying to sort these problems out, old Samuel Morse released his version.
Perfected means made perfect. Here are some sentences. He has perfected the art of cheesecake baking. She worked hard and perfected her tennis swing. Our company perfected their sales technique.
It helped communication for far distances and it also created Morse code. Source: Holt, United States History Independence to 1914, Deverell and White. Pg. 364-5 "In 1832, Samuel F.B. Morse perfected the telegraph--a device that could send information over wires across great distances...the telegraph sent pulses, or surges, of electric current through a wire."
