Cleopatra VII of Egypt did not try to take Roman lands after Caesar's death.
Cleopatra was Julius Caesar's lover and then the lover of Mark Antony, one of the three men who ruled Rome in the alliance called the Second Triumvirate which was formed after Caesar's assassination. Mark Antony and his ally Octavian (later he was called Augustus) then got locked in a power struggle. Octavian declared war on Cleopatra because it was easier than declaring war on Mark Antony. His true goal was to fight Mark Antony, whom he knew would come to her aid. Octavian defeated the two of them. After his victory Egypt was annexed to Rome.
Mark Antony was in charge of the eastern territories of Rome before the war with Octavian. He put the three children he had with Cleopatra in charge of parts of these territories. He declared Cleopatra the Queen of Queens and the queen of Egypt and Caesareon, the son she had with Julius Caesar King of Kings and king of Egypt
