No we do not and we never have had total freedom of speech and neither does any country on this planetHowever we do have Freedoms of speech, which is different.
Martin Luther King Jr. gave this famous speech to protest against unfair treatment of African Americans. People have given this speech the name "I Have a Dream".
One problem with the sedition act was that it limited the freedom of speech for people. It didn't allow people to say anything bad about the country or the government.
Why words that make people want to fight are not protected as free speech, is because the words are classed as inciting a breach of the peace - or are offensive.
