Thomas Elva Edison Invented Light bulb, so, one can say that he is the father of artificial light. He never invented it for the sake of any public good ,that invention was an accidental event actually . Although, now a days people may say that because it was needed for lightening up the streets and at other things, which takes place during night and which need artificial light, but believe me this is not a case here and every other possible usage for the same was determined afterwards.
