I don't know what you read, but judges are appointed so they can remain neutral in a case rather than owing a allegiance to a particular political party or group who has paid for their election. It is important that s judge not owe their office because someone paid to get them elected. A judge needs to be objective in a decision using law and the constitution for a ruling.
