The religious leaders of Islam are 1,25,000 holy Prophets (May peace be upon them all). The Muslims believe in all the prophets and all the Divine Books revealed to some of them. The most important is the last Divine Book called the Qur'an revealed to the last prophet of Islam Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (May peace be upon him), he being the most important leader of Islam. Islam began with the first Prophet Hazrat Adam (AS) and assumed its complete shape at the last Prophet (SAW).

The five universally acknowledged messengers in Islam are Abraham, Moses, David, Jesus and Muhammad, as each is believed to have been sent with a scripture.Muslim tradition also maintains that Adam received scrolls as did some of the other patriarchs of the Generations of Adam.
