South Korea is democratic just like the U.S and Canada. However, south Korea has a batpoop insane northern neighbour... North Korea.
I know that China is communist as well but I do not think that they would help north Korea in a war now-a-days *( I say now-a-days because China did help North Korea back in the Korean War which you should look up to better help your understanding.)
So pretty much South Korea is normal and has ties with many democratic
countries.
Japan's the worst enemy of Korea. Koreans hate Japan.
