Who are the famous people for global warming?

There is difference between "people who have advanced the understanding of global climate change" and "well known people who are not scientists that have supported the concept of global warming" Many of the latter could not explain adiabatic lapse rate (the rate of temperature change occurring within a rising or descending air parcel) or other science terms and jump mindlessly from prepared talking point to talking point.Climate change efforts have been mostly team efforts with no real torch bearers. Some outstanding efforts were made by scientists such as:

• John Tyndel who discovered the heat absorption of methane gas in 1859
  
• Willli Dansgaard who drilled ice cores in Greenland in 1982
  
• James Hansen who testified before the US senate in 1988 on his studies into climate change
  
• James Lovelock and Rajasthan who worked on the role of CFCs in the global warming effect
