Well, Cupid and Psyche are Roman forms of Eros and Psyche. Eros is the son of Aphrodite, and the god of Love. Psyche was the youngest daughter of a king. Eros got married to her, and didn't tell Psyche that he was a god. Aphrodite got pissed and made Psyche do all these stupid things, because Eros hated her. Finally they lived happily ever after after Psyche did everything.

Pysche means Soul, while Eros means Love.
