What are the three main political parties in England?
There are numerous parties, but the House of Commons is much
like any two party system where some are left of center in their
politics and some are right of center. The Labour Party is
currently the leadership party in England and represents centrist
to left-wing politics and includes all members of the Co-operative
Party in its voting block. The Loyal Opposition representing right
of center thought is the Conservative Party. A third party with
increasing influence is the Liberal Democrats who are in most cases
solidly in the center of politics of most issues. There are several
extremist parties such as the far-right, racist, British National
Party (BNP), active in England and the rest of the UK who, whilst
not currently holding any seats in the main UK Parliament,
nevertheless have substantial followings, and in the case of the UK
Independent Party seats in the European Parliament.
