The Popul Vuh is the sacred text that documents the Maya creation myth. In the Quiche Maya language it means Counsel Book.
In the Popol Vuh (sacred bock of the Mayas, a Mexican Pre Hispanic culture), the three gods that created the world (Tepeu, Gucumatz and Hurakan) wanted to create a creature that would live in that perfect world and that at the same time would prais and dignify their gods. They first created the animals, but they couldn't speak or think, they were not able of praising the gods. Then they created the man after three attempts:1st man was created with mud: It was a failed attempt because their bodies were unstable, they disintegrated.2nd man was created with wood: they were unable of praising their creators, that is why the gods send an inundation to eliminate them from the world; but some of them escaped from the calamity and became what we today know as "monkeys".3rd man was created with corn: they had intelligence and were able of praying to their gods, but because of them being so perfect; their creators saw them as a threat. That is why they send them the worst calamities (aging, hate, fear, etc) to tempt them and make them unperfected, human.
The Popol Vuh was written in Mayan.
Nosferatu - Popol Vuh album - was created in 1978.
The Popol Vuh, a Mayan sacred text, was written in the 16th century by an anonymous Mayan author or authors. It was transcribed in the K'iche' language but later translated into Spanish.

Popol Vuh (The Mayan Bible)
Invitation to World Literature - 2010 Popol Vuh 1-8 was released on: USA: 10 October 2010
What surprised me the most was the detailed cosmology and creation myth presented in the Popol Vuh, as it provides insights into the mythological beliefs and cultural origins of the Maya civilization. The epic nature of the narrative, its emphasis on the relationship between gods and humans, and the vivid descriptions of the trials and challenges faced by the mythological heroes were also notable surprises.
Popol Vuh was a German band that was founded in 1969 by the pianist, Florian Fricke, the percussionist, Holger Trulzsch, and the recording engineer, Frank Fiedler. The band remained active until 2001.
The "Popol Vuh" is divided into four main parts: creation myth, ancient tales of the Quiché people, hero twins journey to Xibalba, and genealogy of the Quiché kingdom. Each part contains rich narratives and teachings from Mayan mythology.
