DPIFF has two segments which confer awards, Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards given to the Bollywood industry, and the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards South for the South Indian film industry.In 2019, DPIFF started Dadasaheb Phalke Awards South for the South Indian film industry. The award function celebrates the brilliance of the Indian film industry, which is making an effort to acknowledge as well as aid nascent projects by bringing them to mainstream audiences.This award differs from the Dadasaheb Phalke Award which is presented annually at the National Film Awards ceremony by the Directorate of Film Festivals, an organisation set up by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting,Government of India.In the recent DPIFF Awards 2020, Hrithik Roshan was Honoured with Best Actor Award for Super 30 (film).
