There is no benefit derived from female dress in Islam. It does not help the woman keep cool in the warm climates where Islam predominates. It does not provide the woman to choose how she wishes to dress and many Muslim women in tight-knit communities feel pressure to dress according to established standards. The niqab and burqa deny a woman the full ability to express herself due to the covering of her face.
It is also problematic for men because it prevents men from learning sexual restraint. For example, Imam Zakir Naik often poses the hypothetical "which woman is more likely to be raped, the woman who wears the hijaab or the woman who does not?" This of course implies that the woman is somehow responsible for being raped, because how the woman is dressing becomes the tipping point for sexual misconduct. The emphasis should be placed on the man to respect women regardless of how they dress.
