So John was writing of thing after that date. That generation shall not pass from the Earth. A generation is not 40 years. A generation did not start until that father was 21 years old. Now add the 40 years and you get 61 years of generations. 1948 plus 61 is 2009. Makes more since now, doesn't it? And that generation has not passed away. "...as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be at the end of days". Noah tried his best to tell the world that the end was coming, but they would not believe. When the waters came and took the boat away, no one was saved except those that were in the boat. Jesus is the life waters and he carried Noah away. He will come back and carry his church away, before the great tribulation. And again, no one will be saved after that point. He said "blessed are those that have not seen and still believe".I firmly believe that the rapture will take place after the two prophets are resurrected. We will preach the gospel up to the last minute, just like Noah. But when the devil takes human form and sets up his kingdom here on earth, we will be gone. The last 3 1/2 years are for the unbeliever's, including the Jews. If you want to know when the tribulation period of 7 years will begin, watch Israel and that wall they are building.
