It consists of a station about 800 ft of track and two subway cars that were originally part of the Green Line in Boston. It is not a revenue system, it is part of a research project of the Center for National Response and is used to conduct anti-terrorism training exercises.
If you want to take just the subway, you can get on at the Aquarium stop which is right outside the aquarium. That is the Blue Line. Take that inbound to Government Center and switch to the Green Line outbound. Get on a train that says Lechmere on the front/sides and take that three stops to Science Park. The science museum is right there. Source: I have lived in Boston for three years, have a blog on things to see/do in Boston, RelaxLaughExploreBoston.wordpress.com
